The local LIFE group runs a pregnancy care service from the Y-Centre, Bridge Street (between the railway station and the Friary shopping centre) in Guildford Town Centre. This is staffed by a team of volunteer counsellors and support staff. The Y-Centre is open by appointment only. Appointments can be made via the National Helpline 0800 915 4600.
During 2004-2005 the Guildford LIFE Group received many personal callers and telephone enquiries. Pregnancy tests were performed and counselling and advice was given on a range of subjects including accommodation, benefits and so on. Additionally items of baby equipment, such as pushchairs etc., and baby or childrens clothing were distributed.
